Overview

Straits Farm is an ILM biodiversity gain site within the South Downs National Park, positioned in the Wealden Greensand National Character Area.

The site delivers one of the widest habitat mixes in ILM's portfolio, including Other Neutral Grassland, Modified Grassland, Traditional Orchards, Mixed Scrub, Wet Woodland, Ponds (Non-priority), Rural Trees and multiple hedgerow types, generating units across medium and high distinctiveness categories. Traditional Orchards and Wet Woodland are both priority habitat types under the Biodiversity Metric.

An HMMP is in place and the legal agreement is currently being finalised. Units are available to reserve now ahead of registration on the Biodiversity Gain Site Register.

With over 270 area-based units and hedgerow units available across nine habitat types, Straits Farm offers developers a comprehensive off-site BNG solution within the South Downs National Park and the surrounding area.
