Overview
Prospect Hill is an ILM habitat bank positioned within Northumberland LPA, overlooking the Tyne Valley in the Tyne Gap and Hadrian’s Wall National Character Area.
The site currently comprises Lowland Meadow in poor condition, which is being enhanced to good condition to generate very high distinctiveness grassland units. In addition, species-rich native hedgerow units are being created to strengthen ecological connectivity and long-term biodiversity value.
An HMMP and Section 106 Agreement are in place, and the site is fully registered on the Biodiversity Gain Site Register.
With a focused habitat offer centred on very high distinctiveness Lowland Meadow, Prospect Hill supports developers seeking off-site BNG units in Northumberland and across the wider Tyne Valley region.
