Overview
Crowdecote is an ILM biodiversity gain site in the Peak District National Park, uniquely positioned across both the South West Peak and White Peak National Character Areas.
The site delivers a diverse mix of habitat types, including Other Neutral Grassland, Mixed Scrub, Other Woodland: Broadleaved, Species-rich Native Hedgerow and Ditches, generating units across medium distinctiveness categories. With area-based, hedgerow and watercourse units all available from a single site, Crowdecote offers developers a versatile off-site BNG solution covering multiple unit types in one allocation.
An HMMP is in place and the site is legally secured via a Conservation Covenant. It is now registered on the Biodiversity Gain Site Register and units are available for allocation.
Spanning two NCAs makes this site relevant to a wider catchment of development projects across the Peak District.
